Community Supported Agriculture
What is a CSA?
Why Should I Join a CSA?
- A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is an agreement between the consumer and the farmers. Under this agreement, the consumer has one of two options: to pay a fixed sum to the farmer, and in return the farmer will provide the consumer with fresh vegetables every week during the agreed upon months, or, to pay a fixed sum to a farmer, and in return the consumer can visit the farm at agreed upon times and pick their own fresh fruits and vegetables.
Why Should I Join a CSA?
- Joining a CSA benefits not only the consumer, but the community and the farmer as well. The consumer gets ultra-fresh food, with the flavor and vitamin benefits. In addition, they are exposed to new vegetables and recipes. The farmer benefits, because they receive money earlier in the season, which helps the farmer throughout the season.
